SENIOR DESIGNERS will confer to create a cover design that is guaranteed to have very high visibility when viewed on bookshelves in bookstores. High visibility means that your book will be noticed more easily by customers who are browsing in the stores. It also means that it is more likely to be remembered when your book is seen in reviews in newspapers and when flashed on-screen during television interviews. If you wish, you can supply an image to be incorporated. The customized interior pages will receive borders, lettering, and copy fitting for ease of reading and beauty.

The number of manuscript pages usually is greater than the number of book pages. (However, layout artists can maintain or expand the number of pages as requested.) All of the above levels of design packages include up to 200 book pages. There is a charge of $1 (Levels 1-2) or $2 (Levels 3-5) for each page that is more than 200 book pages. The exact book page count can be known only after the layout has been completed, so payment of the overage fee is not due until prior to the review of the book's interior.
Additional Charges
You may begin your primary design services (as listed in the above levels) without paying any additional charges in advance. Except for the cover design and work specifically stated in the levels, other images and requested graphics for the interior are additional.
After you submit your photographs, illustrations, or other types of graphics requests, the cost will be determined. Payment is due prior to the start of the services for the additional graphics.
If you supply images (photographs, illustrations, etc.) in the correct digital format (TIFF), color format (CMYK), resolution (300 ppi), and size (100%), there is a $4.50 charge for each to place them in your book's layout. If your images are on paper or are not in the correct digital format, we can convert them for you. Regular conversion fees are estimated upon review of images and begin at $4.50 each (plus placement). Customized conversion begins at $15 each.
Our minimum charge is $45 for each order, so submit all of your photos, illustrations, and other graphic images at the same time as part of one order to avoid extra minimum charges.
Are your photos too light or dark? Do they have spots, streaks, or cracks? Do you want to add/remove and object or person? Remove background? Restorations and photo enhancement by skilled specialists are available.
If you need
illustrations and/or graphics that are created based on your particular specifications, they are available at per-hour rates. Alterations (which are your requested changes to your original submissions) are done at per-hour rates. Estimated payments in advance are required.
Payment for a service is for that particular service only. A payment made for one design service cannot be transferred to a different design service or to any other service at any level. Only one discount can be used for each purchase unless otherwise stated in writing by an ALB representative.
