Review Book Service
(your free review books in packages to outlets)
THE MAILING OF REVIEW BOOKS IS NOT A REQUIREMENT. It is a service that is included in Level 2 and above. We highly recommend its usage. If you wish, we can send only your marketing literature.
Only after a retail bulk buyer expresses an interest in your book will a review book be mailed to the outlet (such as a bookstore). Upon request by your marketing expert, our support staff will package and mail/ship your book to the interested bulk buyer.
Your free book is sent because the buyers will want to see the actual book to determine if they want to order it. Sending free review books is a necessary part of marketing because few stores will buy an unseen book (unless you are already a famous author). They want to check the binding, scan through it, and sometimes submit it to their supervisors. You can determine how many books to send.
There is an additional charge for postage that you will determine based upon our suggestions. We will stay within any budget that you set.
In the review book packages, we will enclose the marketing literature that we create for you or your group, according to your chosen level.

Included in review book packages will be our letter with a special offer to the buyers. This offer is very simple, but it is amazing in its effect. We have heard of no one else who uses such an effective strategy. It gives each buyer an incentive to carry your book. Even without this jewel, our marketing method is excellent -- but, with it, our approval rate soars!
• Literature
Literature will be designed for your book. The buyers can get the gist in a few moments, but also can learn the details in this literature.
It will not be merely a brochure. (You can create those by yourself.) This marketing literature will be written by our professionals so that it is easy to scan in a way that is preferred by most buyers.
Depending upon your chosen level, it will contain your name as the author (with your photo and biographical sketch, if you wish), ISBN, retail price, description, and cover image. Your printed material is included in the packages and is mailed to each bulk buyer.
• Portfolio (Level 4 and Level 5)
Our customized marketing literature is designed especially for your book and your book's particular market. The pages contain information about the author, the book's contents, background information, significant quotes, and other important details. There is also a synopsis page.
Buyers receive so many "information packages" with very beautiful pages that are full of words that are ignored. Due to decades of experience, we know what works best and will provide it for you.

The Services of Our Marketing Experts
Our marketing experts are professionals who have been in the book publishing industry from five years to over four decades. Your book will be in the best of hands. American Legacy Books has been marketing and distributing books since 1994. A professional is assigned to market a group of books -- or one single book.
First, your Today's Book World marketing cards are mailed to our contacts in the purchasing departments of book-buying outlets. Soon thereafter, our experts make the first round of calls to them. Then, your package (or box) containing your literature and your complimentary book (or just your literature) is sent to each bulk buyer who requests it.
If your quantity of books is limited, we'll mail accordingly. Mailing complimentary review books is best. However, if you don't want to send books to bulk buyers, we can send only the literature about your book.
After a little time has elapsed for the buyers to review your literature and inspect your book, the sales calls begin. Your marketing expert presents the best features of your book and why the buyers should purchase it.
Your expert will continue to follow up by telephone and by email, if each buyer so chooses. After we make sales, we continue to contact additional bulk book buyers. The procedure is repeated during the course of time (depending upon your chosen level) in order to maximize the marketing of your book.
We contact the bulk buyers who are the most likely to want your type of book. For short time periods, contacting the same group of outlets is the most effective method. On higher levels, your expert will rotate the contacts so that they are mailing and calling different bookstores, libraries, schools, and other contacts.

Your book will be available for purchase online. You may direct your customers to our bookstore if you don't have your own web site. Put www.AmericanLegacyBookstore.com on any literature that you create for yourself so that your customers can purchase your book online.
Large chain bookstores order books in large and small quantities. However, smaller bookstores don't want to take the time to order only one or two books. If those small bookstores have customers who want your book, it's easier for their employees to tell those customers to go online and purchase it. In that way, you get every sale.
Optional: Order-Taking, Payment Processing, Mailing/Shipping
Our fulfillment staff is available on Mondays through Fridays from 9:00 to 5:00 Eastern to take orders for your book by telephone, fax, mail, or online. We accept all major credit cards, debit cards, checks, money orders, purchase orders, and bank wires.
We will process your bulk quantity orders from bookstores and other retail outlets, pack your books into shipping packages or boxes, label them, and ship them by UPS Ground (a delivery service) or by the United States Postal Service. We provide all labor, packaging materials, and associated costs. The outlets (and other customers) pay for all shipping/mailing. We collect from them and pay you.
Your orders from individual customers through our online bookstore will be processed, packaged, and mailed. We collect from them and pay you.

DURATION of MARKETING

Bookstore buyers are very busy people. Sometimes, they review your package right away; often, they have to send it to other colleagues; frequently, they need to be reminded.
Our marketing staff has developed a good feel about how long to wait and when to call. Contacting them too soon and not contacting them enough can have the same undesirable effect. The timing must be correct. This wait and call and wait and call is the hardest part for authors, but patience is necessary.
With that said:
Sometimes, we get sales
on our very first call.
When orders are received, we do not stop. After a reasonable time, we call again for additional orders. While that is happening, we also call more contacts in different outlets and start the same process with them. |
